Let's give it a rest
Messy bobs, very short pixie cuts, with scaled-back fringes, the 2020 haircuts are getting grittier and more modern.
Brighter, more elegant jaunty looks on which to try out the most unusual colours.
SHORT HAIR
Among the short haircuts to be in vogue are the pixie cuts, the short and very short haircuts à la garçonne with scaled fringe, perfect for those with fine, straight hair. Ideal for enhancing
high cheekbones, pixie cuts acquire volume, while the mock dishevelled and heavily scaled messy cuts come long at the nape of the neck.
MEDIUM HAIR
The bob cut is the leading figure among medium haircuts for 2020. The classic bob, especially in the beautiful Lob cut version, becomes the star. Highly scaled with a natural and never too stiff crease, it is also perfect for curly hair. The long quiff and curly fringe enhance wavy hair. While the parting is neither central nor lateral: it disappears under locks of hair artfully plaited on the head.
CURLY HAIR
Neat curls or afro hair? Even among the 2020 curly hair trends, it is the Lob cut that dominates the scene. Medium curly cuts aim less and less at definition and more and more at natural volumes.
The half-length is trimmed by important scaling.
But it is the fringe that is the real protagonist: short and even very short, always scaled and
never equal.
LONG FORELOCK CUTS
The long quiff? This is the season of the comeback in style of hairstyles and cuts with a central or side parting enlivened by long, scaled down or even quiffs.
These range from the more whimsical cuts with a side shave and a long quiff alternating with a fringe, to the more original asymmetrical quiffs.
The much shifted side parting creates interesting volumes for both long hair and medium haircuts with a quiff that falls to cover almost the entire forehead.
SCALED CUTS
The trend for 2020 is natural volumes, to be achieved with highly scaled cuts with long haircuts with frayed topknots, while asymmetrical '80s-style scaling characterises the shorter cuts.
For an even more eccentric touch, cuts become asymmetrical V-shaped fringe, as well as very short above and long below.
LONG HAIR
With long even haircuts put aside for good, thinning hair is back and never flat and equal. The 2020 long haircuts are enhanced with warm tints and colours, mainly the most intense shades of brown, to which light is given by streaks and lightening with a very natural final effect.
CENTRE PARTED HAIR
A 90s classic is back in the limelight: the centre parting cut.
It is perfect for making the features appear sharper
the even haircut with centre parting, while straight hair looks acquire a more bon ton style. Want a more jaunty touch? The effect of a long fringe to give the hairstyle more vibrancy.
COPPER RED HAIR
From copper red to luminous blond highlights, to shades tending towards light brown. Ban mahogany and cherry red colouring for 2020. If you want to give your brown hair a natural and refined effect, try
with coppery highlights and shades, perfect for emphasising very pale diaphanous and porcelain complexions.
HIGHLIGHTED BROWN HAIR
The most popular shades are dark chocolate, coppery and the cooler, more intense smokey, ideal especially for dark and olive complexions. While the warmer tones of honey and caramel reward fair complexions.
Monochrome shades are combined with asymmetrical haircuts to give them more character.
To create more movement in dark colours, balayage and ombré techniques remain the ideal choice.
The perfect way to enhance cuts, without giving up a natural and discreet blended effect.
QUIFF WITH HIGHLIGHTS
The trend of coloured locks changes direction this year. It is the coloured quiff, short or long, that is the musi have for girls and ladies. Blonde streaks on a brown base with little tone shift remain the most popular, especially for fashionably short haircuts. But auburn highlights on a dark base are also ideal for adding character.
